Russ' wealth of knowledge in the motel industry with his ability to analyse motels has been assistance to many people over the past ten years.

Russ consulted with a large NSW Motel Brokerage and completed the development of an extensive data base on motels in NSW. Computer software programs were designed to produce detailed reports on the operation of a motel compared to industry benchmarks, compiled over the past 18 years. These reports analyse all aspects of a typical county motel operationl.

In March 2003 Russ and his wife Emmie purchased Aston Hill Motor Lodge a 16 unit motel in Port Macquarie.

In 2007 luxury dual key motel style units were constructed adjoining the motel.

In April 2010 Golden Chain Motor Inns was added offering further discounts to Golden Chain Members.
